First
institutional meeting between the president of the Port Authority of Vigo,
Carlos Botana, and the vice president of the Provincial Council of Pontevedra,
Luisa Sánchez. A meeting that both leaders described as very cordial and
fruitful, during which they agreed to explore possible avenues of collaboration
between both institutions with the aim of revitalizing the central area of the
port through the promotion of cultural and sporting activities.
In this
context, both Botana and Sánchez advocated for the organization of different
activities "that bring life" to this space throughout the year,
promoting nautical sports through the Nautical Cluster Ría de Vigo, enhancing
the Blue Week, and opening a line of collaboration to introduce children to the
sea.
"We
want the Port of Vigo to be the venue for major international events, both
cultural and sporting, taking advantage of the great potential of our
Ría," they emphasized, "and ensuring that these activities have a
permanent character".
The HYDEA project, led by the EnergyLab Technology Center and funded by the Interreg Atlantic Area 2021-2027 program, has been awarded the 2024 Atlantic Project Award in the category of Atlantic Ports and Blue Economy.
