Open-door days at BCP INTERMARES: The Port of Vigo organizes two round tables on cooperation for fisheries development and safety at sea

Entre los días 5 y 9 de noviembre, la Secretaría General de Pesca organiza las jornadas de puertas abiertas en el BCP INTERMARES. Durante estas jornadas se desarrollarán varias reuniones, cursos, mesas redondas y asesoramientos en torno al sector pesquero, en especial acerca de la cooperación para el desarrollo del sector, incluyendo la formación técnica en buques, la investigación marina, etc. 

En este marco, el día 7 de noviembre el Puerto de Vigo organiza dos mesas con una duración de dos horas cada una. Una de las mesas se centrará en la cooperación al desarrollo en el sector pesquero, en la que se analizará el papel de instrumentos y herramientas como las Alianzas Público-Privadas para el Desarrollo (AAPDs), en las que interviene el sector privado de forma activa. La mesa se dividirá en dos partes, primero tendrán lugar cuatro conferencias  que realizarán una revisión de la importancia de la sostenibilidad y la cooperación en el desarrollo pesquero, así como el papel del sector privado y del Buque Intermares en el desarrollo sectorial pesquero. En la última parte, se expondrán casos prácticos de empresas y organizaciones públicas en países terceros.

La segunda mesa redonda abordará la importancia del papel de la Armada en las relaciones internacionales para asegurar y promover la paz y seguridad internacional en el mar. Así, de la mano de expertos de la Universidad y representantes de la Armada, se presentarán y analizarán las actividades desarrolladas por la Armada en las relaciones internacionales, tanto en el contexto de la cooperación al desarrollo como en la lucha contra actos ilícitos cometidos en el mar.

• The President of the Port Authority of Vigo, Carlos Botana, and the Rector of the University of Vigo, Manuel Joaquín Reigosa, have signed a collaboration agreement laying the groundwork for the joint realization of the 3rd edition of the Scientists Meet Artists program. • The agreement between both entities aims to make this initiative more appealing to the people of Vigo, increasing its impact and visibility while enhancing interaction between the port and the city. • The building of the Real Club Náutico de Vigo has become the canvas on which artist Delio Rodríguez has created a mural of urban art focusing on ocean observation. The goal is to visualize and disseminate aspects related to the marine world.
