Peiraos do Solpor seleccionado como uno de los mejores proyectos en la categoría integración puerto-ciudad por la Asociación Mundial de Puertos

La Asociación Internacional de Puertos (IAPH por sus siglas en inglés) celebra anualmente los WORLD PORTS SUSTAINABILITY AWARDS. En la edición de 2020, el proyecto Peiraos do Solpor (Sunset Docksproject en inglés) del Puerto de Vigo ha sido seleccionado como uno de los mejores proyectos presentados en la categoría “integración puerto-ciudad”. 

El proyecto, que nace bajo el paraguas del Plan Blue Growth del Puerto de Vigo, tiene como objetivo principal la recuperación de los ecosistemas marino-portuarios degradados por la actividad industrial, con un carácter participativo innovador en el que las actividades se han diseñado con el fin de que la sociedad sea partícipe del progreso de recuperación e incremento de la biodiversidad en los ecosistemas. 

Para ello,se han desarrollado unas estructuras a modo de arrecife artificial que cuelgan de cuerdas colocadas en los muelles de la zona de A Laxe, como prueba piloto.  Estas estructuras servirán de sustrato para la fauna y flora marina, favoreciendo así el incremento de la biodiversidad. Se construirá a continuación un “muro” en dicho con los materiales de arrecifes artificiales que mejores resultados hayan dado, así como una plataforma a modo de observatorio para que los interesados puedan observar lo que sucede bajo el agua.

Para poder postularse como ganador, los proyectos seleccionados deben contar con el apoyo del público, por lo que actualmente es posible votar la candidatura en la página del premio.
