The project for the professionalization of the value chain in coastal and deep-sea extractive fishing in the Atlantic region, BlueFishing Training, continues to progress with the organization of sectorial tables for the validation of the training actions to be carried out within the project.
The Nautilus has received more than 7,000 visitors, including the general public, students and scientists.
• The Port of Vigo, the Cooperative of Shipowners (ARVI), the Oceanic Platform of the Canary Islands (PLOCAN), the University of Vigo, and the Institute for Sustainable Business Growth (ICSEM) have joined forces this morning to hold a seminar on the training needs in the fishing sector. • A study, carried out within the framework of the BlueFishing Training project, has identified the training needs and deficiencies in the sector. • A plan for training pathways and three pilot training programs will be designed to enhance skills and lifelong learning. • The Port of Vigo is committed to education and individuals through its European strategy for sustainable blue economy, with projects such as MarENet or the promotion of professional competencies improvement in the maritime fishing field.
• Born under the umbrella of the sustainable blue economy strategy led by the Port Authority since 2016. • It is formed by "fundamental actors" in the maritime world who know the sector and its needs first hand, as well as by social and business groups, institutions and State Security Forces and Corps. • Vázquez Almuiña defends the importance of social sustainability and advocates for "welcoming seafarers as a big family, where no one is from outside". • The conselleira do Mar puts the Port of Vigo as an "example of social responsibility" by betting on the creation of an organization "that places the city at the forefront of port activity".
• The institution chaired by Vázquez Almuiña continues to advance in its European plan for sustainable Blue Economy. • The president of Puertos del Estado, Álvaro Rodríguez Dapena, and the president of the Port of Vigo, Jesús Vázquez Almuiña, presented the project to improve the energy efficiency of the Lonja or "Lonja 4.0". • It is the first large fish market in Europe to operate with renewable energies with storage, which will optimize the energy balance of the building and reduce its annual consumption by 215,000 kW. • This action is part of the Port Authority of Vigo's commitment to the environment and the defense of sustainability, through its Blue Growth strategy.

- The Session Building of the Port Authority of Vigo hosted today the launching meeting of the BlueFishing Training project. - This project aims to strengthen and improve the professionalization of the extractive fishing sector in the Atlantic. - The project will specifically address three key sectors of the blue economy of Vigo and the Canary Islands: inshore and offshore fishing and port marketing and logistics.
- This is a pioneering and unique initiative in the generation and dispensing of green hydrogen led by the Port Authority of Vigo within its Blue Growth strategy. - It contemplates the implementation of a public access hydrogen plant in the port area, which will allow its use for different land mobility and marine propulsion applications. - It will develop the green hydrogen value chain not only in Vigo and its area of influence, but also in Galicia, with the generation of quality employment and the creation and diversification of companies in the use of these technologies, in addition to the development, training and growth in R&D&I through the leading technology centers available in the Community.

• La Autoridad Portuaria de Vigo y la Consellería de Sanidade firman un acuerdo de colaboración para fomentar la formación en resucitación cardiopulmonar y el incremento de la capacitación en el uso de desfibrilación semiautomática. • La Fundación Pública Urxencias Sanitarias de Galicia-061 está estudiando los espacios y recursos de los que dispone el Puerto de Vigo para llevar a cabo una distribución lo más eficiente posible de nuevos desfibriladores. • Esta iniciativa reafirma los compromisos que mantiene la Autoridad Portuaria de Vigo con los hábitos de vida saludable y el Objetivo de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS) de la Agenda 2030.
