In its effort to bring the Port closer to the City, the Port Authority of Vigo has agreed to collaborate with the Blue Education Association to bring the sea and its potential closer to the public.
It has been led by the Port Authority of Vigo and supported by the Cooperative of Fishing Shipowners of the Port of Vigo, the Oceanic Platform of the Canary Islands (PLOCAN), the University of Vigo, and the Institute for Sustainable Business Growth (ICSEM). It has contributed to strengthening skills and lifelong learning in the extractive fishing sector by presenting an analysis of the mismatch between education and the labor market, identifying training deficiencies for current positions, and enabling anticipation of future needs. A total of 13 training pathways have been designed, with a significant impact, providing training to 238 individuals, including 150 professionals in the fishing sector.
