MARENET launches website

La Autoridad Portuaria de Vigo participa junto con otras ocho entidades europeas, en el proyecto europeo Atlantic Maritime Ecosystem Network - MarENet – que pretende fortalecer la competitividad de nuestra industria marítima portuaria y pesquera a través de acciones concretas de formación y apoyo al emprendimiento innovador y sostenible.

MarENet, liderado por el Campus do Mar, surge de la colaboración de entidades en el marco del Plan Blue Growth Vigo y cuenta con un consorcio interdisciplinar formado por 8 entidades – Campus del Mar, Puerto de Vigo, Universidad La Rochelle, CIT, IMDO, ICSEM, Aclunaga y Cepesca- del sector privado y académico de 3 países europeos que conforman la denominada fachada atlántica: España, Irlanda y Francia.

En este contexto, el proyecto aspira a la adecuación de la formación académica a las exigencias y demandas del mercado laboral con el fin de fortalecer la competitividad de los sectores marítimos – pesquero – portuario en la fachada atlántica y bajo un enfoque de crecimiento azul. Para ello, se creará un Hub de conocimiento marítimo-pesquero-portuario que pretende integrar el ”saber hacer” y el conocimiento de centros de formación y empresas para ofrecer a estudiantes y profesionales las habilidades y conocimientos necesarios para responder a las necesidades del sector industrial y promover así el desarrollo de la denominada Economía Azul.  

Como soporte de este Hub se diseñará y pondrá a disposición una plataforma digital que no sólo pondrá a disposición de la ciudadanía toda la información relevante sobre las actividades del proyecto y su progreso, sino que también proporcionará herramientas para facilitar la búsqueda de carreras, cursos y talleres de formación así como ofertas de trabajo y perfiles profesionales en el sector de la economía azul.

Así MareNet pondrá a disposición en los próximos meses de todo los usuarios de las actividades marítimo – pesqueras – portuarias una oferta de formación de gran potencial que abordarán entre otras temáticas la implantación de tecnología 4.0, formación especializada en logística y cursos en lucha contra el cambio climático.

• The President of the Port Authority of Vigo, Carlos Botana, and the Rector of the University of Vigo, Manuel Joaquín Reigosa, have signed a collaboration agreement laying the groundwork for the joint realization of the 3rd edition of the Scientists Meet Artists program. • The agreement between both entities aims to make this initiative more appealing to the people of Vigo, increasing its impact and visibility while enhancing interaction between the port and the city. • The building of the Real Club Náutico de Vigo has become the canvas on which artist Delio Rodríguez has created a mural of urban art focusing on ocean observation. The goal is to visualize and disseminate aspects related to the marine world.
