El proyecto PuertAlMar, desarrollado por el Puerto de Vigo y
el Centro de Investigación Mariña (CIM) de la Universidade de Vigo, nace con el
propósito de divulgar y sensibilizar sobre la importancia de conservar el
entorno natural y la recuperación de
hábitats degradados para lograr un estado saludable de los ecosistemas
marinos y sus beneficios para el desarrollo de actividades pesqueros
sostenibles. El proyecto, que cuenta además con el apoyo del Puerto de Melilla,
está financiado por Fundación Biodiversidad, del Ministerio para la Transición
Ecológica y el Reto Demográfico, a través del Programa pleamar, cofinanciado
por el Fondo Europeo Marítimo y de Pesca (FEMP).
En el marco de este proyecto, y con el objetivo de
incrementar la concienciación sobre la necesidad de encontrar soluciones
innovadoras y verdes que permitan un equilibro entre el buen funcionamiento de
los ecosistemas y las actividades económicas, se rhan realizado, durante el mes de
abril, tres jornadas virtuales formativas y de sensibilización con escolares de
educación secundaria y bachillerato de colegios de Vigo y Melilla durante los
días 14, 15 y 16 de abril, así como dos jornadas de visita al Puerto de Vigo que se realizarán los días 23 y 30 de abril. Durante
estas sesiones se tratarán temas como la ecología costera, la zonación de
especies - abordando las diferencias entre región Mediterránea y Atlántica-,
los impactos ambientales y presiones en la costa, y las soluciones basadas en
la naturaleza como herramientas para el desarrollo sostenible. Las jornadas
contarán con la participación de Jesús Troncoso, Mariano Lastra y Jesús López,
investigadores del Grupo de Ecoloxía Costeira del CIM.
Como cierre de estas acciones de divulgación, se llevará a cabo un
taller con profesionales del sector de la economía azul para presentar los principales
resultados del proyecto obtenidos hasta el momento, creando un espacio donde
compartir otras experiencias y buenas prácticas en la conservación y
recuperación de entornos marinos degradados.

• Carlos Botana presents a series of initiatives to the Advisory Council and the Regional Ministry of the Sea, which will be previously agreed upon with the sector. • A commitment to initiate a process of reinvention and modernization to become a worldwide reference. • El Berbés users join forces to seek solutions and express their full willingness to collaborate in revitalizing fishing activity. • The Regional Ministry of the Sea approves the new plan, recognizing the importance of fishing for Galicia and Vigo.
