First edition of the FARO Summit – Future Alliance for Resilient Oceans
The FARO Summit has been established with the aim of becoming Europe’s leading annual gathering on the blue economy – a forum that does not seek to compete with existing events, but rather to offer its own unique perspective. Its mission is to bring together knowledge, innovation, business and the public to accelerate the transition towards a more sustainable and resilient blue economy, with an Atlantic focus and an international reach.
The forum is structured around five main thematic pillars: the ocean, ranging from scientific knowledge to biodiversity and marine resources; innovation, encompassing technology, digitalisation, artificial intelligence, robotics and data applied to the marine environment; ports, in their transformation towards smart, green and climate-resilient infrastructure; the economy, covering finance, entrepreneurship and the blue economy; and people, through training, talent, governance and ocean literacy.
