Green hydrogen in the Atlantic Area ports - On track for development of ports action plans and decision-making tool
The HYDEA project, which is funded by the Interreg Atlantic Area 2021-2027 programme, was set up to boost the hydrogen transition in the Atlantic Area ports. During the second year of the project, the 10 members of the consortium committed into structuring methods that will enable the development of valuable tools such as action plans for ports and a decision-making tool based on real case studies. HYDEA partners have also launched three calls to provide access to their experimental facilities and expertise to support the development and testing of pre-commercial, innovative technologies.

Vigo Port Flies Blue Trail Flag in Recognition of Its Commitment to Maritime and Port Heritage
• Carlos Botana, president of the Vigo Port Authority, hoisted the flag today in the Náutico area. • The recognition was awarded by the Association for Environmental and Consumer Education (ADEAC), honoring Vigo Port's efforts along its waterfront. • The port also received a second distinction: the “Nautilus” underwater viewer has been designated a Blue Center, a space dedicated to environmental education. • The authority is now aiming to obtain a third Blue Flag next year with the launch of its “Peiraos do Solpor” project.

The HYDEA project, led by the EnergyLab Technology Center and funded by the Interreg Atlantic Area 2021-2027 program, has been awarded the 2024 Atlantic Project Award in the category of Atlantic Ports and Blue Economy.
OFFICIAL LAUNCH OF THE “NATURPORTS” PROJECT
Led by the Port of Vigo, the project involves the collaboration of the University of Vigo, as well as the University of Oviedo and the Marine Research Institute (IIM) of the CSIC. Its goal is to design and validate innovative ecological restoration strategies through the application and adaptation of Nature-based Solutions (NbS) as a restoration practice for altered areas in maritime-port environments.
